Advance Care Pharmacy opened its doors under current ownership in June 2006.  At that time the pharmacy occupied just several hundred square feet at 20 North 7th St in Indiana, PA.  The only service provided was the preparation of non-sterile compounded medications.  Over several years, the pharmacy expanded its compounding capabilities and gained the trust of numerous patients and physicians.  This growth led to moving the pharmacy to its current location at 280 Indian Springs Rd in October 2014.

In 2015, management decided to expand services by installing a clean room and franchising with Vital Care Infusion Services.  Vital Care is a nationwide network of privately-owned home infusion pharmacies and is currently the 2nd largest provider of home infusion services nationwide.  This enabled the pharmacy to provide sterile compounded medications, such as IV antibiotics, TPN (Total parenteral nutrition), and many other therapies.  As a Vital Care franchise, we have the additional training necessary to manage patients receiving complex medication therapies outside of the hospital setting.  This enables us to provide local, hometown service with the backing of a large nationwide company.

Fast forward to 2025, Advance Care Pharmacy has received accreditation from ACHC and URAC.  These accreditations demonstrate the high level of care provided by the pharmacy and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.  Services have been expanded to include infusion medications, specialty medications, and compounding services.  Advance Care has been named a top performing franchise by Vital Care for 7 consecutive years.  From servicing the local community in west-central Pennsylvania, Advance Care now services patients in 15 states with more coming soon.  From just a couple employees to over 50 now.  From a few hundred square feet to over 10,000 square feet.  We have not forgotten our roots, and what has made us successful over the years.  Relationships and service are how this business has been built.  Treating each patient and each caregiver like we would want our family treated.  At Advance Care, no one is a “number”.  Many of our patients have complex, difficult to manage diseases.  We strive to partner with each patient, understanding their individual goals and helping meet those goals.  It may be as simple as being able to walk around the block or play with their children or grandchildren again, or more complex such as slowing and/or reversing disease progression, monitoring labs and overall response to therapy.  Regardless of the severity of the condition or the goal, Advance Care Pharmacy is here to be with our patients every step of the way.  To treat people with kindness and dignity.  To ensure the very best care possible and the best outcomes possible. 

In 2021, we opened Vital Care Infusion Services at 1881 Swamp Pike Gilbertsville, PA to better serve patients in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.  

In 2024, we opened Vital Care of Hagerstown at 1181 Imperial Drive, Suite 101 Hagerstown, MD to serve patients in Maryland, Central Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Together, we form the ADV Infusion group of pharmacies.  As Vital Care franchises, we have the resources of the 2nd largest infusion services provider in the country.  Under the direction of our local ownership, each of our locations seeks to treat each patient like family providing empathy and care of the highest quality.  We take great pride in advancing patient health and remain committed to enhancing lives for many years to come.
